
Red Tails is a 2012 war film directed by Anthony Hemingway, from a screenplay by John Ridley and Aaron McGruder. The story, written by Ridley, is inspired by true events. Executive producer, George Lucas based the film on the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American servicemen during World War II. The movie stars Cuba Gooding, Jr., Terrence Howard, Tristan Wilds, Method Man, Ne-Yo and more. The film grossed 19.1 million and came in 2nd place at the box office with Underworld Awakening taking the 1st slot.
